Philosophy of Teaching and Learning
Philosophy of Teaching and Learning
All children have the right to learn in a safe and supported environment and my philosophy for teaching is based around this statement. I believe that children regardless of their race, gender or learning ability have the right to learn in their preferred method using a differentiated approach. As a teacher I will strive to provide meaningful lessons to all my students using multiple modes of delivery. I will strive to understand how each of my students learns so as to provide lessons that will further extend their knowledge.
Through education children are molded into informed learners with the intellectual, physical, social and emotional skills they need to reach their goals throughout their lives and into their futures. I believe that as a teacher I need to provide meaningful lessons by scaffolding student learning to encourage students to thrive in my classroom. While at school I should provide an atmosphere, which fosters feelings of happiness, interest, security and confidence thus making learning a pleasurable experience. I have acknowledged that not all students’ experience learning and schooling in the same manner, and some students will require additional support to foster their learning. Through professional development I will strive to learn new strategies and ways to teach so that my students may get the most out of my lessons and develop a thirst for knowledge, which will continue throughout their lives.
