Identify strategies to support inclusive student participation and engagement in classroom activities.
Through my role as an Integration aide I was able to encourage and facilitate student participation in most lessons. This has helped me through my studies and on placement as I find it easy to identify students who may be struggling and assist them in completing the tasks and participating in class discussions.
One particular student I had struggled with reading and writing. I sourced audio books for her to listen to and she was able to use a computer program that typed what she spoke so that she could do the same work as her peers.
The use of student engagement and inclusion policies at my placements has also helped inform the way I view inclusion of students.
